I just received a Ljungman 42B I bought off of gunbroker. After cyphering out how to work the thing, I'm thinking a couple of more magazines might be a good idea. Anyone know of a source at a semi-reasonable price?

The magazine was intended to be left in the rifle and refilled by stripper clips, only one was supplied.
I never tried but maybe a modified Hakim mag would work.

Thanks for the info, I've got several thousand rounds of surplus 6.5x55 without clips. Maybe I should look for a source of clips? And, I can see your point, the mag doesn't exactly fall out of the mag well....

Wonderful rifle! I wish I had kept mine. If you haven't gotten the accuracy you expected, be sure the thread protector cap on the muzzle has a large, centered hole. Mine was slightly off center and bullets were just touching one side on exit. Once I figured that out it was a wonderful shooter.

I used to enjoy taking mine to the gunshows. This was back in the late 1980s. It was fun to watch the guys try to figure out how to open the action. Extremely accurate BTW with Norma ammo.

A Hakim magazine is harder to find than the Swede.
You can check out the original gangsters post in modifying MG-13 mags to fit the Hakim.
You might be able to fit the MG-13 Mag to the Swede rifle. If 25 rounds is too many you could cut the German magazine off.

I sent you a photo by PM.

This is a Ljungman with MG-13 magazine.

I do not know why it does not always display.

These MG 13 mags are really useful, they can be converted to be used in so many rifles.

I guess the original MG-13 magazine design was very good and it was copied a lot resulting in it fitting a lot of later designs.

The M42 Rifle's magazine was NOT intended to be replaced
it was removable mainly as a way to quickly UNLOAD the rifle.

BTW. it used "Direct Gas Impingment" long before Eugene stoner "thought" of the idea.

The other thing about the Ljungman rifle is it makes "M1 Thumb" almost seem like "an interesting way" to spend an afternoon.

The first time you accidentally let one slam shut, even with your thumb out of the way you almost break out into a sweat.
