I have a rifle with a very similar crest on the receiver ring. However, the eagle motive lacks the detail that your photo shows, it's more of a stylised stamp like the present day eagle in German proof marks. I've been told it's a Spanish air force model of 1944.
The rifle looks very much like a K98K, but the upper hand guard extends to the receiver like in your photo, the bolt handle is straight like a VZ24,and the serial number is seven characters starting EA with five digits following. Not like the German system with only four digits and sometimes a letter or two following.

Also, the rifle has finger grooves in the fore end part of the stock.
Hopefully this info helps.

Might want to look that up in Ludwig Olsen's book from Brownells. The bible on Mauser rifles.
