I poates this on small calibers as well.

Does anyone have a source for that 6.5x55 surplus ammo that used to be found everywhere?

The box is marked :

6,5 mm sk ptr m/94
prj m/41
prickskytte

Samco has some linked in 146gr/ 250 rnd boxes - [at .46 each] is this the same stuff?

Thanks,

Les

6.5x55 was the service cartridge of Sweden.

Go to http://www.centuryarms.com for 6.5x55 139gr soft point Hot Shot boxer primed ammo $7.55/box but you have buy a certain minimum.Century also has K98's, Enfields & others & Bosnian M48 Mausers reasonably priced per my dealer. The ones he's ordered came with a turned down bolt ready for conversion.

I still have a sleeve of 200 rounds.

The 6.5 x 55mm military ammo is pretty expensive compared to most military ammo.

I don't know of a good "inexpensive" source. Frowner

I am not aware of a 6.5mm SWISS military cartridge-just the 6.5X50 Arisaka, 6.5X55mm Swede/Norwegian, 6.5X52 Carcano, 6.5X54 Greek Mann., 6.5X53R Dutch, and of course, the 6.5X57mm Mauser (which has never been a military round).

I picked up a Swede 1899 DWM made mauser with stock tag indicating no. 1 barrel condition. Usual handling marks but listed by vendor as VG, which it is. I was going to restore this as I once had a lot of military rifles. I also wanted the action or else to fit a new military configuration barrel to it. I also got some brass. I think I even have a crowning tool for the muzzle as well as pilots to fit several close-by calibers.

I am using Savage 110 series actions for my projects so I may not need this rifle and am considering listing it for sale. But if I do keep it I will go to reloading my own ammo as this gives me control over cost and performance.
