Strange Looking Stock on 1903 Springfield

Can someone post a pic on here if I email it to you. Guy I work with bought a 1903 from CMP and the stock is very strange looking and he can't fin any info on it...

That is just a "C" stock, but someone got crazy with a sander. Note even the recoil lug is protruding some. The two cross bolts are non-standard also. OG

Seriously doubt if it is in original condition, especially if it came from the CMP. They know their stuff, and a "find" usually ends up on the CMP auction.

Amazingly, it looks suspiciously like a stock M1903 barrel band. Could it be??????
