Is milsurp AP .308 ammo still sold to the public? I think it is M993? If so, where? Thanks!

500 Grains,

I think it ran afoul of the ban on AP ammo for handguns when Thompson Center brought out its .308 caliber barrels for the contender. The TC folks offered the caliber over the objections of many in the shooting community that understood what would happen. Hasn't been sold in a long time.

It's always something.

If you can load your own, you can still buy the AP and tracer projectiles from mil surplus sources for a reasonable price. Just remember to use stick style powder when loading the tracer or it may not lite.

You can trust the government. Look how well they took care of the American Indian...
