I have two Eddystone rifles. One chambered in 303 British and the other in 30-06. As far as I know both are original with matching numbers. I there a market for these rifles? Rusty, Yes. As a collector of U.S. military firearms I can assure you there is collector interest in the M1917 and the .303 by other types of collectors. There is a 4 sale forum on the CMP website and also on other sites. CMP will not be receiving large quantities of M1917 rifles ever again. If your Eddystone M1917 has all parts marked with an E then it is correct. This is highly unlikely as they were all re-built after WWI and again after WWII before being "loaned" to foreign countries, but some correct models do exist. Do you know any of the history of these particular rifles? Mike ______________ DSC DRSS (again) SCI Life NRA Life Sables Life Mzuri IPHA "To be a Marine is enough."

I'd appreciate the pics. Also, virtually every part should be marked with either an E or EN if they are Eddystone - R = Remington and W = Winchester. http://www.odcmp.com/forms/m1917.pdf http://imageevent.com/willyp/f...britishww1enfieldp14 You have a P14 303 and a M1917 Enfield, Both the M1917 and P 14 were made by Eddystone, The Remington was preferred by builders and smiths, the Remington did not have the hole in the top of the sight bridge, the Winchester was number two because it did have the hole in the top of the sight bridge and then there was Eddystone at #3, in the words of Roy Dunlap Eddystone was any ones guess, when it came to quality. I purchased an Eddystone at a gun show, got it home (in the light), it was cracked, took it back the same day. The dealer thought he had priced it cheap enought to allow for a crack, we adjusted the price and he thought I was difficult. F. Guffey
