| A local shop had one a while back that came from a local museum. It was a Mauser 1918 T-Gewher. Asking price was 10K. IIRC it was eventually sold to a collector on the East Coast for 7K. I had a chance to look at it before it was sold. A very impressive and massive rifle. http://world.guns.ru/atr/de/mauser-t-gewehr-e.html |

| A local shop had a L39 for years. Too big to put on any shelf or cabinet it was left on the floor near the front door. It eventually sold for $6000 - (about 1990 or so). The new owner had no place to store it so it stayed in the floor in the shop for several more years. |

| Have a look back through some old Auction catalogues as I think one was sold through there.
That one I think came from Miall's Gunshop.

| If you'll look in the gun rags' display advertising of the late 50s, early 1960s, you'll fairly frequently find them for sale for $100 or less...sometimes much less. I never bought any because the ammo was as much per round as some of the surplus rifles were apiece. They were BIG single shot bolt actions and everyone I ever knew or read about who fired one didn't much care for the recoil. Plus, to be honest, the workmanship looked a bit crude to me.
My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

| Just for fun Left is the 13mm T-Gewear round, 2nd is the 50BMG 3rd is the 55 Boys right is a 50 Vickers HV While there were some later, rimless, versions of the German round, all the correct rimmed rounds were made in 1918. The entire project was a late war rush job, due to the fielding of British tanks at the end of the war. While 5K Aust would be a good price for the rifle, the rounds run in the 75-100 US each range and can't be made from anything else (the Boys rifle was at least easily re-barreled to 50BMG) |
