Yup, you need to register. Can you copy and paste? "There are creatures here that cannot even be found in books, and I have killed them all......"

OK: Picked up this rifle this spring and did all the stock refinish: Here's some history of my rifle and load development: http://www.graybeardoutdoors.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=59290&highligh t= http://www.graybeardoutdoors.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=60813&highligh t= http://www.graybeardoutdoors.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=68602&highligh t= Using reformed 284 winchester brass I've got the following load worked up: 165 Sierra GameKing and IMR-4350 at OAL = 2.96" Velocity = 2,710 chrono'd at 10' (Basicly same as 308 Win.) With iron sights set at 100 Yards: 3 shots = 1.9" CTCXS at 50 yards centered 0.3" high 3 shots = 1.7" CTCSX at 100 yards centered 1.4" low 4 shots = 3.6" CTCXS at 150 yards centered 2.5" low Now son wants it for his deer rifle this fall! I did all the work! Think I should mention to him it would be better to use it with sights set at 200? ________ Ray

Ray, changing the K31 sight from the 100m setting to the 200m setting will raise the point of impact about 2 MOA. That would bring your 50 yard group above to 1.3" high. Your 100 yard group to .6" high. And your 150 yard group to .5" high. Sounds like a good idea to me.

The rifle was in great condition when I got it - The grooves looked brand new, blueing was excelent under the stock but the stock looked like a POS! The stock has 2 armory repairs plus all kinds of dents and scraps. All serial numbers matched - Even the upper and lower stock. So I stripped the stock and steam/pulled dents for 3 days! There was quite a bit of extra wood at the wood to metal fits so I sanded it down with 60 grit sand paper. I did not use finishing grit sand paper - I've done that before. By not finishing it smooth there will be a really good feel/grip to the final finish - Something that I've hit on - Y'all should try it! Final finish was a mix of special dark walnut and redwood stain. Makes the finish look years old because most current day stocks are finished with a walnut that has a brown/yellow tint not red! Then seven coats of satin polyurethane both inside and out seals the stock real well. Finally the finish is dulled with steelwool - Gives the finish a look kinda like oil rubbed but is completely water proof. PS: Thanks Don ________ Ray
