in reality the rifle Mosin-Nagant does not exist. They are two different rifles. The confusion probably happened because the Russian Ministry of defence by results of the tender purchased both rifles - rifle of Sergei Mosin and Leon Nagant rifle. This was due to the fact that the production was planned in France, and Hagant had some patents there, that cannot be circumvented.
As a result of the Mosin rifle was made first in France, and in French documents it was called "Mossin fusille".

Nagant Bolt is more complicated, there are two screws and disassembly requires a screwdriver,

so the rifle was not used in the army, but it can be seen in museums such as the Artillery Museum in St. Petersburg. But I'm afraid this is the wrong name so ingrained that it cannot be changed.

The production in France had nothing to do with Nagant's patents that were taken in Belgium, not in France.
Only two countries in the world had the capacity to built a modern repeating rifle in large quantities with an absolute interchangeability of parts, Germany and France.
A treaty was signed with France breaking the isolation of Russia wanted by Germany that feared a military confrontation on two fronts as described by Bismark as the greatest threat to Germany.
It took Russia almost two years to simply being able to produce the master serie of 5 rifles that were made as reference for the production.
The barrel was not finished before 1892..
Chatellerault, like Saint Etienne, had the experience of being able to produce millions of quality parts totally interchangeable and Saint Etienne had an overloaded production planning with modifications to be implemented on the 1886 Lebel rifle and production of the servive revolver to be launched.
Quality control included more than 800 measurements during the production process.
Half a million rifles were made between September 1892 and April 1895 as per agreed in the contract despite the delay in the master serie.
