Well Canadian lefty and I had planned to fly in for moose this fall. Problem is he just got a job promotion and won't be able to spare the time now. Anyone else interested in flying in for moose, bear, wolves? I've got most of the details worked out, and it's going to be a good trip for sure. We'll be going to an area that I've hunted before and it's got some damned fine moose hunting. The place is also crawling with bears. I'd prefer someone who is first a bowhunter, I'm pretty hot to kill a moose with my bow. I'm thinking of bowhinting the first few days and then using the gun if necessary. I can go into further details if anyone is interested. I'm willing to go with someone who isn't an Albert resident but we'd have to get the ball rolling pretty fast. Canadian lefty already had some draw points accumulated, that would have been a big help. This is a self organized hunt ...so no guides fees. the chef

I just got off the phone. The flying charges are $6.50 per mile from ft. mac. it's pretty inexpensive.

Damn promotions! ;-) I haven't got my plans worked out yet for this fall, I've got three priority points for moose. I was going to hunt moose/mule deer near GP, but I need to check with my buddy if that deal is still on. How far were you planning on flying? Frans

I've got the points, but I gotta get a sheep, before Frans gets another one. I've got both opening days and a few days around them blocked on my calendar already! Even though my parents will be over from Europe at that time. Talk about bad planning. I've been talking to a friend about doing a backpack sheep hunt into the Willmore, but we were supposed to go hunting the Peace River for bear too, this spring. I'm taking that plan now more as a general intention, to, sometime in the future, for an unspecified period of time, jointly, or each on our own, hike, ride or bike into an area that may or may not hold sheep, with the objective to hunt, or not. I'm open for suggestions. If I don't change jobs, I have 6 weeks of holiday accrued, and I'm planning to spend at least half of those hunting! Frans

Yup, those darned promotions calgarychef1 has been really good about this. I hardly ever post anymore being so swamped with work-especially travel- just got back from Toronto and have to head back out next week. Living in hotel rooms week-in and out isn't all that great. I just can't commit that far out anymore. If I do find time to head out for Caribou this winter season (nov. 15-Feb 15th) he'll be the first to know. I'd guide him in to some nice caribou for sure. Good luck to all !
