I've just had a call from CBC radio and it's been confirmed that the bear was a cross or hybrid, and amazingly, common sense ruled and the bureaucrats have not laid any charges and are going to give the hunter back his hide and skull. They're trying to locate the hunter now to let him know, but he's off on a grizzly hunt somewhere in the NWT. ~Arctic`

Details ? Did they do DNA studies ? Photos ?

DNA was completed, photos are on the net and have been in major papers, not available to me, but it did appear to have the head shape of a grizzly and was more blond than white. ~Arctic~
