Sorry for the off-topic, but a chap in B.C. wants to buy my Nepalese Gahendra, made circa 1880s. I can mail such a firearm freely within the U.S., but can I mail it across the border without issue? Any advice appreciated. My God I wish I were on Vancouver Island fly fishing for pink salmon just now. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

No issues with mailing guns in Canada but you should likely check with the U.S. Postal Service to see if they will do it.

Thanks Sheephunter. Some years back, a friend in New Zealand and a dealer in Australia mailed guns to me here in Oregon, without issues. Hope it works the opposite direction. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Seven or eight years ago I bought a similar antique rifle (Mk III) from a Canadian dealer and it was mailed to me in the USA with no problem at all. Don't know if things have changed in that time period.

I heard that even handguns of that era are not considered firearms. Would be interesting to know what the law actually is.
