I've always hunte ther in the Spring and had great success. I would like to try it in the fall but heard it is much harder to get bears to the bait then and it's difficult to judsge them as their hair is short. Could someone give me the pros an cons of Spring Vs. Fall bear heunting ? Thanks

The baits in our area (Riding Mountains)are more active in the fall than in the spring. The hides are also thicker in the fall than the spring with no rubbing. I would prefer a fall hide to a spring hide. Hope this is of help.

A fall bear is definitely a nicer bear and very doable. Don't have the advantage of the "rut" for the real big boars though..
