Anyone know a good bear outfitter in Manitoba in the 1500 to 1800 price range ? All the outfitters I used to go with have nearly doubled their prices. I'm not looking in the far north as I drive up. Any help appreciated. Looking to book for next spring. Has anyone heard of South Shore Lodge at Winnipegosis ?

I sold my bear hunts for 1600.00 US for 8 years without a increase. I made more money at $1600. 8 years ago than I do at $2150. now. With the increase of the Cdn. dollar and cost of gasoline, prices had to go up or it was not worth me outfitting at all. If you get a hunt for the price you want, then that outfitter has a large number of tags and is relying on volume. I imagine your cost of living went up over the last few years also. My price will have to go up another $100. next year also because of a new tax by our Natural Resourses called a consumption fee. By the way , that 2150. does not include license or tax. I wish you well on finding a good hunt for the price you want, but be very wary on the quality of hunt. David

Thanks David, I know you are a stand up guy and what you say is true. You may not remember but we talked several times and you were booked full. Problem is I'm living on a very low retirement, but still have the bear itch, even though I've taken many including two B&C. David is a very good outfitter, if you get a chance hunt with him do so.
