Hi. Your brother must apply for a permit to accompany from the provincial ministry. Have a great hunt!

Sorry, forgot to clarify that your brother would have to be a B.C. resident with a valid hunter number.

Doesn't the BC resident also have to have held a BC hunting liscence 3 of the last 5 years or something similar to that as well?Where are you guys planning on going moose hunting anyways?

Again, sorry, not sure about that part, I guess I just assume one buys a license every year. I do know that all applications for accompany permits now go through one office in Victoria so as to enable the powers that be to monitor permits. Seems some fellows were applying in many different areas of the province and exceeding the allowable number of yearly permits for an individual and thus actually operating as guides.

Last year the rut peaked around that time but it can certainly vary by up to two weeks or so.Back in '93 the rut really didn't start going until the middle of October(which was cool because that's when we were there) and then it was wild. We've also seen the rut peak in late September and die out in early October. We're leaving this year on October 1 and are hoping for the same time frame for the rut as last year. The country is so thick where we hunt you have to count on calling the bulls out into an open area otherwise you never see them.

Well lets hope its the same as last year, i have picks of moose last year all in one clear cut at the same time coming out to my brothers calling , 4 at a time. In the 1 week hunt 18 moose were seen and a nice 50 1/2 " er was taken. just after the moose was gutted 2 large moose came out and watch , i have a pick of my brother hiding behind the gut pile calling to another smaller bull who came within 40 yards to see what was going on.
