I was looking at a Tikka 22-250 the other day, and since I have never head of this brand, I was wondering if any of you had any thoughts on these guns?

Thanks

I've got a LH 595 Tikka in .223 and it shoots .25 inch 3 shot groups at 100 meters with regular hunter style factory barrel with my reloads. A heck of a lot of value for the money IMHO.

I have a couple of Tikas and am very pleased with them. After seeing mine a couple of friends have also gone to Tika. They are push feed and have plastic trigger guards and magazines but none of us has had any problem. All of these are good shooters.

Murf, is that the T3 models you have? I've been thinking about their Battue Lite model.

Tikka - excellent rifles - very accurate with a easily adjustable trigger. Buy one and it will probably become your favourite rifle! Smiler

Barrels used are the same as Sako put on their rifles. There was a scare last year, when some poor quality stainless was used in a batch of barrels. Some blew up in a very dramatic fashion - believe there were some nasty injuries as a result.

The affected batch numbers are known and have now been recalled and I feel there is no risk in buying a Tikka - they are now safer than ever!

Get one and be happy with your decision.

Mine are the Whitetail Hunter models , 695 and 595 in 30-06 and 22-250. They are not light weight guns at all. A friend recently purchased a T3 Lite in 300WSM and is quite happy with it. his seems much lighter than mine, even more than the published data would suggest.

i looked at the 595 wood/blue when i ws shopping for a .308, but then the T3 came along, and just looking at it makes me ill!
is it just me, or are new guns terrible looking? like new cars, they are all going for modern shapes, and mostly synthetic stocks.
i would still buy a 2nd hand 595 or 695 tikka, as i think they"re beautiful.

Tikka has actually been around for quite a while. They are made at the Sako plant in Finland. They are sort of a poor mans Sako, and quite the excellent rifle. Sako doesn't make any junk. I think you'll be quite satisfied with the Tikka. It's an accurate beggar. Best wishes.
