As some of you know from the Big Bore Shoot, the wife was not able to shoot this spring. Well that problem was taken care of in July and by November she was ready to pick up where she left off. The weather was still nice, so we decided to go hunting on Nov. 15/16. She would be the shooter and I would stay in the truck with the little one. After a range session on the 14th she decided that she would shoot her Ruger in 7 rem mag this year. Her 300 WSM that I picked up for her this spring did not have a trigger pull to her liking. She has become quite picky over the last few years. All of the rifles that she shoots must have a trigger job, good glass (VX-III min.) and be cut down to fit. We started thursday morning and right off the bat we were into deer. Small whitey's nothing to get worried about. Checked out all the regular spots that we hunt every year and then got down to work. Thursday evening she decides that it is time to get serious and 2 quick shots later she has her first double with a muley doe and fawn laying on the ground. We take care of them and then head to the hotel. That night she decides that she would like to fill both whitetail tags in the morning and then we can be home in the afternoon. Friday morning dawns with a quick shot and her antlerless whitetail tag is used up and it is time to check out another spot for a whitetail buck. half hour later and this is task is finished. Her little whitetail hunt took 1.25 hrs friday morning. Gotta love the rut. Everything worked so well. It was almost like we planned it that way. When the smoke finally cleared she had 4 empty brass and 4 filled tags. And the best part, every deer dropped at the shot and we could get the truck into every spot (no dragging for me) Her rifle for the trip was a Left handed Ruger M77 MKII Stainless Laminate with a VX-III 3.5-10x40. She was shooting 160gr. Barnes Triple Shock bullets in factory loads from Federal.

Hey Sid, Better start saving extra to pay those trophy fees. When the wife starts shooting you are in trouble my friend. Russ Have gun- Will travel The value of a trophy is computed directly in terms of personal investment in its acquisition. Robert Ruark

In the last pic the baby is pointing to a another deer that mom didn't see.I guess she can't shoot with both hands full. Free speech has been executed on the altar of political correctness.
