Ok, I know I can import a flint lock-because it's classed as an antique there aren't very many hoops to jump through. Does the same apply for an antique style cap lock? thanks the chef

Hi chef; As far as I know, cap locks require registration, while flint locks don't. One of those stupid little quirks they came up with, when they created the Registry, but I don't know if that makes them easier to import here, or export from the U.S. Grizz Indeed, no human being has yet lived under conditions which, considering the prevailing climates of the past, can be regarded as normal. as long as it predates 1898 wich mean it was made befor that date.... the actual rifle not a reproduction of said rifle.

A friend of mine bought an 1853 enfield rep. about 4 years ago in ME. When he got to the border they asked what rifle make was so he said 1853. They only charged him tax on the sale cost and said nothing about registration or licenseing. A lot of them are not very knowledgable when it comes to guns. --------------------------------- It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it
