Okay, who's going to make it? Tell me there'll be lots of doubles and Farquharsons interspersed with Alex Henrys so I can justify leavy our balmy -20 degree weather.

Well, I definitely will try to make some time to go there, though mostly prices are inflated beyond my interest.

I'm going for sure...as usual I doubt I'll buy anything. It's fun to look though.

Popped into the gun show today, wow alot of people there today. There are so many tables it would take 2 full days to just to check them out completly. Alot of neat stuff of all types, some not bad deals but most listed prices seem a bit high, but then thats what gun shows are about, haggling for a better price. Friend had a table showing his winchester carbine collection, mostly model 94's and earlier stuff. Makes me wish I would have done something different with all my wages back when, could maybe afford to play today and buy the cool stuff diplayed.
No lottery winning this week, so came home empty handed, but sure worth the look.

I was there both days and got out without spending a lot of money. My wife on the other hand bought herself a Cogswell & Harrison in .300 H&H. We whittled down the price until it was just a bit over priced in my mind. She'd asked me to scout out a .300 H&H and I found 3 at the show. I thought the best value was a pre-64 M70 super grade. The C&H is just in a different handling class though and once she picked picked it up there was no going back. I didn't try to talk her out of it. She was willing to pay a bit of a premium to get what she liked. Besides, she was spending her own money and I'll get to borrow it once in a while Smiler.

I didn't have enough time, but spent a few hours there anyway... saw some thing that I should have bought four years ago, judging from the fact that the price almost trippled over that period... hung on to my money, or rather, I didn't go into debt. Wink

I was there for a couple hours on Friday. Just cruised past the tables looking for a couple specific items. Had no luck and kept most of my 'walkin around money'. I did find a Baillie-Grohmann 2nd ed (Camps in the Rockies) that I had to take home, and replenished my Wipe-Out supplies though....so I didn't go home totally empty handed.

I heard Scruffy was in the building while I was there, but did not see him anywhere. Sorry I missed ya buddy!

Cheers,
Canuck

I went, found some mounts for my brno but the guy wanted 80 bucks...I kept on walking. Found a binocular harness for 20 bucks and got em. A handgun box for 10 bucks and got it. I chickened out on the pedersoli 45 cal I'm kicking myself a bit now though. And dammit I wanted to go back and talk to the feller with the musk ox horns-he said 300 bucks might get them...I've always wanted a set.

Next time I'll take a pen and paper to write down the things to go back and look at a sexond time.

Oh yea, also picked up thje longbow that Jerry Haley mad for me....pretty sweet.

I was there from 10:00 - 12:30 p.m. on Friday and then I had to leave. The chap that I came up with from Lethbridge told me on the way that he had to be home bu 4:00 p.m. Frowner Dang it but that was hard news .. I did talk to the Ice Man ... (still the only man that I ever met who shot and nailed a running unwounded leopard .. Eeker) and he told me that Canuck was around .. as was George (from Oliver) .. Never did find either one ... and Canuck ain't a midget .. I should have just peered for tall B..C dudes .. I had a great chat with Maki ... nice to see old friends .. better than high priced Cooeys .. by far !!! cheers

Scruffy, I was there for about the same period, 10:30-12:30... but then again at my height I fall below the vision line of many. And then being bent down over those tables most of the time.... Big Grin

Yes, those pigeon breasts... weren't going to put on a big dinner of pigeon and moose??

If it hadn't been for Chef's promise to make us a gourmet dinner out of the flying rats, we might a well not have shot them! Wink
