What size of blacks could I expect to find in Alberta? Any color phased?

Alberta has a good percentage of color phase bears. I have a 6ft. blonde colored bear. As far as the upper size I have a black 7 ft. bear that the spring weight was over 400 lbs.

As Mike says, there are quite a few color ohase bears here in Alberta, particularly in the Grand Prairie area. I've seen golden, cinnamon, and fawn colored bears. I don't recall what the largest black bear taken in Alberta was, perhaps someone else can chip in with that info. I know I had a nice 6' black bear rug until one of my dogs made it into a chew toy when i was away. - Dan
