What is a prohibitive knife. I have heard that knives with more then 7 in blades. Then I have heard knifes designed to be opened one handed.

Are then differant standards for defferiant areas.

Thanks

You can have a sword if you want..no restrictions..Like aywhere else, if you are in a city with a big Rambo knife on your belt, the cops may be interested in you, but it's not really illegal

The only restrictions are knives that are spring operated, like switchblades.

Don't worry about it if you have a folder with a one hand opening nub on it. it's legal..

They'll knick you for "flick" knives, too.

Heard a story recently where a cop went up to a biker in a courthouse. The cop asked the biker to let him see his folding belt knife. The biker's lawyer didn't like it much, but told the biker to do it. The cop flicked the knife open with one hand, and said to the biker "You're under arrest." The lawyer started to protest and the cop pointed straight at him and said "And YOU'RE a witness!!!"

And there are prhibitions in effect in different cities as well, local ordinance kind of things. A one hand opening knife, thta isn't a gravity Knife (another word for flick knives) or a switch blade are legal from the fed's point of view. I've never heard of a regular citizen ever being hassled over a knife, and I've carried folders for 35 years. FWIW - Dan
