THANKS,

It is too early to say what will happen with this new minority government, however it is better now then few weeks ago, when lieberal government announced total handgun ban.
I hoping that somehow Conservative governement will scrap that hated gun registry. That will turn the clock back and give us some time to orginize as group.
Also, no one wants to trigger the election now, at least for couple years, and I wish Conservative government will prove themself worty to be re-elected, when the next election come.

I saw a this in the paper and wondered about the new gonvernment:

"In his victory address Monday night, Harper promised voters to "honour your trust, we will deliver on our commitments."
He said that will start with an immediate one-percentage-point cut in the GST, tougher gun laws and an accountability act to clean up government ethics."

What will "tougher gun laws" mean to you?

What I believe "Tougher Gun Laws" will mean is mandatory jail sentences for people who commit violent crime and crimes with firearms. The liberal approach was to rehab these "poor oppressed youth" that were selling drugs and killing each other and a fair number of innocent bystanders. The new government has also indicated they would do away with the $2 billion + long gun registry that does nothing but harass honest duck & deer hunters and waste untold hours of police time that could be used to get some of the scum off our streets.

I would recommend a quick and heartfelt talk with your local conservative MP the steps to get rid of the registry begining ASAP. Let's put em to work.

Getting trouhger on gun carime can mean many things. Unless they do away with some of the gun laws getting tougher means throwing people in prison for not registering guns, owning to many, owning the wrong types ect or anything the want it to mean.
