Yes I'll be going here in the NWT as soon as the snow builds up for the yamaha. Up here we simply do a good job of skinning, dry the hide and then use it for the best sleeping pad you will ever own. Never tried to treat/cure the hide so I am unsure of the options and effects.

North of 60 -

Yup...you have me grinning to myself here with fond memories. I have a favorite spot just south of Union Island, and another southeast of the icehouse. If you're feeling self indulgent, you can always go out to Nonatcho and stay in one of Merlins cabins.... [Big Grin] ...your neck of the woods is my old home turf, and I'm getting homesick - and hungry for a stuffed Caribou heart!

Just like North of 60 we are waiting for the snow to build up and the ice roads to freeze. Probably not til after Christmas. Then fill the freezer with 5 caribou. Smokey

YEP, will be at Nouchimi camp. Not sure exact date yet but will be close to Thanksgiving day. Some Canadian friends are finalizing the details so not sure what mile, sorry K-marker will be at.

Last year probably saw 3000 caribou over the 5 days. Talk about a target rich environment. [Big Grin]
DID get a chance to stretch out the legs on the .340wby though.
