Any one have any info on the muskox population on Victoria Island, my outfitter is informing me that it could be as low as ten percent of normal!

I was just looking into hunts there. Hope they're not going the way of the Caribou in many areas.

When I hunt up there last year the numbers were way down, may take a few years to rebound Member NRA, NFA,CSSA,DSC,SCI,AFGA

Likely down near Cambridge Bay due to the commercial harvest. I would talk to High Arctic lodge they are far from the town and would have a better idea of what is really happening.

I hunted there last year for Caribou & Muskox. Saw lots of Muskox, but have nothing to compare the numbers to, as I have never been before. One or 2 Muskox should be a gimme....don't waste your money on the Arctic Island caribou upgrade....putting on up to 100 miles a day on the machines, I saw 1 Bull/ 6 cows in 6 days.
