With my daughter being on her last day of spring break I tried to talk her into going with me to look for a cougar to chase. She passed, with the thought of driving around just to look for a track was not up her alley as she was still tired from her trip to Mexico.
One of the pups I am training Courtney chose to keep herself. Being I am always guiding we don't get much time to hunt together so when I found a good tom track Back to house I went. Different story when I got home, both Courty and my wife hopped in the truck.
We walked into the tree not sure if I would let this tom walk as i normally do. I suspected he was the one that was killing kittens in the area. With a tree full of 5 pups and 3 dogs, Courty and my wife I pulled the trigger on the 243 and down he came. You have to love it when they put on 30lbs on the way down.
It looks like he had a belly full of kittens as he had cougar hair in his teeth. I will split him open and look when I take him to the wolf bait station tomorrow.
On a side note Courtney was pumped to see the progress her pup has made over the winter.
Enjoy the pictures/
