I need some advice. From Canadians, not just brokers. I have an older, very close friend (>70), fit, but just diagnosed with Mesothelioma (sp?). No symptoms, just exploratory surgery and now, next week chemo. He just got back from hunting in Zim with me. It was his first time, took it like a trooper, had a great time. He's mentioned he may want to hunt caribou. Next - about a year and a half ago his son was diagnosed with MS. He has his good days and bad days, but still travels for work, etc. God willing, if these men are able to hunt together next year (I'm not sure I should hope for everything to be ok for 2013) where would I look to set up a hunt for them, me, and possibly one other friend? I think we all want hard antlers, so late September, right? Which herd, which territory, and yes, which outfitter? Thank you in advance for your understanding and your help.

I'll second Ceaser lake outfitters, great area and salt of the earth people. Mervyns outfitting are great also. Both have exceptional mountain caribou and you couldn't go wrong with either. The one thing I do like about Mervyns is you can fly direct into Whitehorse, Watson you will need to rent a car and drive from Whitehorse. The other option is you could just drive all the way to Watson, I've done it a few times and it is a beautiful drive through northern B.C..

From personal experience: Last year I was 70 and hunted caribou and ptarmigan in northern Quebec. Sammy Cantafio of Ungava Adventures provided a SUPERB experience. Three of us old geezers went and it was truly fine. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Ungava Adventures 78 Jean Baptiste, East Rigaud, Quebec, Canada JOP 1PO Tel: (450) 451-4023 email info@ungava-adventures.com These are very fine, decent people and the guides and camp people were wonderful. They are not the cheapest, but they are among the best. We learned this first-hand when we talked with hunters, at the airport, who had used other outfitters. It's getting late in the season so you might contact them ASAP. We went first week Sept. Oxon
