My buddy and I were lucky enough to get drawn for a grizz tag each this spring!. Saturday was our first scouting/hunting trip of the year. We were hunting in the mountains with ny dad north of Prince George, BC.....it seemed a bit early to be out as there was a fresh layer of snow on the ground and next to nothing for bear sign. The two main raods that access the back country we were trying to hunt were well snowed in and forced us back early. We were just finishing the last of the coffee and were heading for home when we spotted a black bear lounging in the midday sun near the top of a clearcut. He looked very nice from where we were standing so we put a stalk on him to get a closer look. At about 100 yrds we confirmed that he was indeed a shooter and my dad took him thru the chest with a 150 grn barens x out of his 7mm mag. The bullet exited thru the spine midway down the bears back, causing him to tumble a short ways down the hill. He measured 6' from nose to tail and his skull green scores at just 19". It was a very fine way to start our spring season! Hopefully TOPPREDATOR can post some pics for me since I haven't figutred that out yet!
