A few guys from Canada are trying to get a group order together for Shilen barrels. These barrels are prechambered, threaded and ready to install on any Savage rifle with a barrel nut with just a few simple tools and go, no-go guages. There may be additional steps depending on what calibre you're switching from, such as swapping the bolt face. Check out the following website for Shilen barrel info. www.shilen.com/savageBarrels.html The reason I'm posting this here is that I know there are at least a couple of other guys on here that have done Savage switch barrels in the past, and thought you may want to get in on this group buy to save some hard earned cash...as well as help us get over 10 barrels/triggers to put on the export permit to lessen the costs associated with this exorbitant fee they charge, with more than 10 barrels or triggers we get a 30% discount. At the moment, we are at 5 barrels, my brother's are patiently researching what barrels they want, so that will be another 2 barrels, so if we can get another 4 barrels, we can meet our goal of 11 + barrels/triggers to lessen the cost to us...and have another calibre to enjoy shooting! Check the following link for more info from the guy organizing this, and if you're interested, sign up on the forum and PM your order details to JuanValdez! http://savageshooters.com/Sava...p/topic,33663.0.html The details you need to include are: Barrel grade - Chrome Moly, Stainless Match, or Stainless Select Match Barrel Length - the price goes up $30 for any length longer than 26" Chamber - a chamber list can be viewed on Shilen's website Finish on barrel - blued only for CM, polished or bead blasted for stainless (extra $35 for bead blasted finish on stainless) Twist rate for the bullets you want to stabalise. Barrel contour - Shilen can closely match factory contours so you won't need to get a new stock in order for your new barrel to fit your factory stock. Barrel Shank size - there is a standard size for most calibers and a large shank size for calibers such as WSM. If you're unsure of you barrel shank size, contact Savage and they can tell you. Thanks for your time CK82

Yup, I already have one on order from Jerry...he's a good guy to deal with, but with us doing this group buy, it is a little bit cheaper, especially if we can get 10 or more guys to buy barrels/triggers.
