One of Us |
Wife and I left on Wednesday to a secret spot for moose hunting. well it was not secret to the wolves. Moose had dissapered. Friday morning we woke to 4 inches of snow. So It was time to get out of those hills. On the way to a new location we passed a small pothole and wife says there are two moose across the pond. Actually there were three. One cow, calf, and a small bull. I took the bull at 190 yards. He went in the water. "of course" We were an hour from home so went and got our canoe and waders. The wind was howling and it was snowing when we arrived back. We launched the canoe and went across the pond to see about towing the moose back across. I told the wife there is another bull in the bush. I did a grunt and out he came. A real monster. He cam straight for us and stopped 10 yards away. We paddled our canoe as fast as we could and stopped across the pond. Heck he was back. Came right around the pond and now was standing above us on the bank. I yelled, threw a few sticks and he left. Never did see him again, thank goodness. How would I explain I had to shoot a charging moose? I have a couple of pictures but do not know how to post them.. watson Lk. | ||
