Well, buddy, this is a difficult question to honestly reply to as these rifles come in a number of configurations and calibers, of which the 8-57js-60mm bbl. is probably the LEAST desireable to most people I know who want these. I honestly do not feel comfortable with quoting a price unless I can see the rifle as a re-blue, etc. can make a big difference and may be difficult to spot, if you are not really familiar with these. If, you live in or around Vancouver, I could take a look at it for you and give you a reliable estimate that way. Most of the old Brno lovers I know are just that, "old" and the demand is not high hereabouts. So, any used gun is worth exactly what someone is willing to give you for it,or, you are willing to pay for it. That's about the only truthful reply I can make under the circumstances.

Quote: Dang, Alf! You increase my regrets at passing up a Brno 602 in .375 H&H for $700 (and it had the nifty built in pop up peep sight in the receiver too!) I plead temporary insanity! jpb (displaced Canuck in Sweden)

I still give my Canadian pickers about $650US for 21-H, more for the 22-F, all calibers, about $800US for ZGs, unaltered (undrilled, no pads), NRA very good or better. I've paid more for mint, unusual specimens. Plenty of like-new 602s down here for around $650US; 600s, 601s about $450-$600 (not pop up peeps).

These figures strike me as being at the high end of the spectrum and my opinions on this are based on actually having traded and sold guns while managing a gun store for my livelihood. In recent years, I bought two minty ZGs for $350.00 and $550.00 CDN. ea., both .30-06s, from two Vancouver gunstores. I also bought three 21-Hs, in 7x57, the most desirable common caliber and one was the rare and ultra-desirable round bolt version, these were $300.00, $695.00 and $600.00 ea. The condition ranged from N.R.A. V.G. to V.G.+ in terms of metal, but only one stock was that nice although all were serviceable. These, except one, were from local gunstores. I have been offered the older .22s at $300.00 several times, quite minty ones, but, have a Kimber 82C with superb wood so declined. Again, it is what a gun is worth to the buyer that determines the price. I used to be in the grip of P-64 Mod. 70itis, one of the worst forms of the dreaded "gunaholics" syndrome and would pay premium prices for fine specimens, especially Alaskans in .338 and .375. Now, my raging desire for these is finally sated and I am just finishing selling all of them that I don't actually shoot; they do not seem to sell as readily as they did, 15-20 yrs. ago, but, they hold their value better then any other gun I own....which is too many! If, someone will give you top dollar for your rifle, great, to me a Brno 21-Hh in 8-57 is a "donor" rifle for the fabulous action, but, others will differ. I would bet that I could find one of those in very nice shape for $500.00 CDN cash within a week if I wanted to.
