Can anybody tell me about hte moose hunting around Grand Prarie. I am looking at going with Diamond T Outfitters.
Either in Late September Around the 21st of September or Mid October after the like the 13th of october.(2011)
I am hoping to do it in 4 days (young kids at home) and my preference would be for the september hunt, especially since I could have a chance at an Elk as well.
Any information is much appreciated, especially if you think I can do it in 4 days.

As a local of the Peace Country, the later part of September would be a good time. Cant comment on the Outfitter and area where their allocations are located. For my hunting group we leave in the first week of October to moose camp. Last couple years seems we hit the rut right near the end of the trip...we use to go from the 7-13 now we have been going from the 3-10. We changed up a bit as the rut timeline changed a bit...might now have to go back to original dates.

If the bulls are coming into the cow calls and you are not too picky on size, then you may have a good chance at a bull in the 4 days you have.

I have been on 12 day hunts over the years and not get a moose till the last day. We have also had hunts for 10-12 days (when there was just my good friend and I in our party) tag out two bulls on the first morning.

Good Luck on yor hunt. I know what you mean with little ones at home and get away. I dont want them to grow up too fast but I cant wait for the boys to come out to camp.
