Like the title says, where would be a good place to eat/pick up souvenirs in Whitehorse? We arrive on the 2nd (around 2 pm) and don't head out for camp until the next day. We will be staying at the Edgewater Hotel. Most places within walking distance? Any place have caribou, bison, elk steaks??

Thanks,
Brett

rib and salmon is a good place for the tourists as you wont find a lot of locals there. they had ``wild`` game offered. never went there for the last 5 years so cant comment that much. they re closing just after labor day.

wheelers is far but top notch, do not think i ever seen wild game to be offered.

closer cork and bull is a good place to eat too for sure but no wild game again.

for souvenirs well in main street you will find all your needs ...

Most everything is within easy walking distance. Klondike Rib and Salmon BBQ is one of our favourite places to eat. You'll definitely want to hit up Baked for a scone in the morning. They don't get much better. There are a couple souvenier shops but we really like North End Gallery and Mac's Firewqeed Books is a great book store. Haugen's is worth checking out too! A couple hours and you will have the downtown shops covered.

Klondike rib and salmon. Walk up main street to the corner with the bank of Montreal and you will see the restaurant on the other side of the road just past the toronto dominion bank.
TShe old mall across the street from the edgewater has souviners, or try mainstreet.
The Baked is good. If you want to try a good lunch go along front street(1st) to the corner of Strickland Street Challenge which is the local organization which assists people with disabilities. Around the corner of Strickland and front st. street turn left at the end of the challenge building and they have a restaurant. Bridges Cafe, very small, excellent food, very good service. a hidden gem in Whitehorse. If you are driving down the alaska highway. Stop into Johnsons crossing lodge for a sandwich to eat in or go. Best on the Alaska highway..

Watson Lake.

Rain/snow......that's what I heard! We'll see how the Sitka holds up.

Sitting in Vancouver right now waiting for our connecting flight.

Phil,

We are lucky as we are not flying out. Driving out and then taking horses in from there.

Went and ate at the Klondike Rib and Salmon tonight. Well worth the hour wait!!
