Sep 24. Leupold Vari-XIII, 1.75-6X, M70 Supergrade .338WM.

Sep 25, sighting in the M70 .375H&H.

Sep 25. 300gr Woodleigh Weldcores loaded up for the .375H&H.

Sep 26. Yamaha Rhino 700, the trailer is from Paddle River Plastics, in Mayerthorpe AB.

Sep 26. Loaded... waiting...

Sep 27, setting up camp.

Camp pretty much set up.

Our tent setup. My buddies side is the 'clean & neat' side...

Sep 27. Our hunting arsenal. L-R: M70 Safari Express .375H&H; M70 Supergrade .338WM; M70 Supergrade .338WM; 'Old Faithful', M700 .338WM.
The Supergrade, on the left is mine; it's the new version model. The Supergrade on the right is my buddies; it's the older vintage Supergrade, when Winchester was being re-organized/purchased. They're both beautiful rifles.

Sep 28. Calling site. Over-looking ye olde burn, in the valley.

Sep 28. Calling moose, late afternoon.

Sep 29.

Sep 30. Early morning calling site.

Sep 30, wash water frozen in the pan...

Sep 30. Cold.

Oct 2. Sunrise above the valley.

Oct 3rd, wolf scat on the trail north of camp; berries and moose hair in the scat. Wolves called during our hunts 4 different times. Messed us up quite a bit. They need thinning out...

Oct 4, calling moose...

Oct 5. Big grizzly feeding the old burn, right behind camp. This pile of poop was ~100 yds from the tent, and would just about fill my XXL hat. Yikes!

Oct 5, crossing a creek in the Ranger.

Oct 5. Old tree along the valley trail.

Oct 6. 'Old Faithful'... looking a little rusty, a little muddy, worn and wet.

Oct 6th. My buddy called this bull out, right before the end of legal shooting light. He shot the bull at 10 paces, after an hour long calling session with it.

Oct 7th.

Oct 7th. SP has called in 'more than his share' of bull moose.

Beautiful hide.

Camp before...

...and after. Oct 7th.

Oct 7. At the trail head. Typical Swan Hills mud bogging, moose packing, camp-out... thank God for winches.

Way to go- - nice tasty moose! My wife shot a nice bull a few year's back north of Edson. We rented a luxury home built by a retired Edmonton fireman, 35 kilometers from nearest power line. It was powered by a volvo engine & had 2 fridges & a hot tub, talk about being spoiled!

Yes, thanks for sharing. I love looking at pic heavy posts like this that tell a story. You guys have this down to a pat. Looks very comfy.
I'm heading up to northern Sask to do our annual deer hunt in Nov and we do the same thing. Love it.
Congrats on your successful trip.

Thanks for sharing. Nice report and pictures, I like your camp set up. Plenty of grizzly in the Swan Hills.
