Anybody ever made the hike up to Coral Lake, Alberta, near Nordegg? What's it like? What kind of cover is up there (can I string a tarp between two trees, or is it barren?) Frans

Coral is a HIGH mountain lake with golden trout. I have seen it from the air a few times and I believe it is above timberline. I think I will be flying past it next week and will have a better look and maybe snap a pic. Robin in Rocky

Hi Frans; according to the Mussio boys, the lake is seldom fished, "because of difficulty of access". You could however, just take advantage of the local heli-tour outfit, right on the highway a couple of miles from the trailhead, and fly up. The adverised price, I have, is starting at $119./ person Grizz Indeed, no human being has yet lived under conditions which, considering the prevailing climates of the past, can be regarded as normal.
