Looking to do a baited black bear hunt in eastern Canada this Spring. Anyone have any experience with outfitters in New Brunswick or Quebec? I've been looking at Lindsay outfitters (New Brunswick) and Big Bear Hunt Adventures (Quebec).

Thanks.

I've never hunted with Lindsay Outfitters but I'm originally from New Brunswick and my brother and I owned a property on a lake for 20 or so years next door to the Lindsay operation. In fact, our two families spent a month each summer on that property before he purchased it.

There were lots of wildlife in that whole area including black bear.

I hunt bear every year here in Ontario and do my own baiting, etc., so know what bear habitat looks like.

Try Berthalot lake lodge or St. Cyr Royal
Two outfits owned by the same family , great hunting and fishing . I see your from Pennsylvania , go to the Harrisburg show and meet them there . They do have plenty of bear , I've shot more than a few myself ,and they are reasonably priced !

Tell them Bob Miller sent you !

I hunted Berthelot for black bear a few years back, going with a number of friends mainly for the pike fishing. I said that I would not be shooting a bear unless it was bigger than the one I'd taken in Alaska. Well, as luck turned out, on the second afternoon, a very large bear came to the bait. I was sitting on the ground, by choice 13 yards away, and when the bear came in, he was taller than the barrel. When we got him back to camp, he was 6-7 nose to tail, and weighed 349 lbs. This was a springtime bear, and he likely would have been 450-500lbs in the fall. That was a hell of a bargain for the money, and the pike and walleye fishing was pretty good too.
