Well I just read that there is a new museum in Sundre. It's got an elephant, walrus, hippo etc. Some day I'll have to stop in for a peek.

Wow, a hunting museum? In this day and age?

I'll have to check it out also. Take my kids along for a 'field trip' to the museum. Wink

Chef,

Where's this museum? Maybe we can go and have a look one of these days, and end up at Grizz' place for coffee!

I've been hoping to have a peak, but the Sundre museum is only open Sat. and Sun, 10 to 4, during the winter The museum is called the Chester Mjolsness World of Wildlife. Chester is the former owner of Spray Lakes Sawmill and donated the mounts as well as the building to house them. there are about 150 exhibits in dioramas, from all over the world, including an elephant I believe. I did see some of the mounts at Mountaiview Taxidermy in Olds. Povl Munksgard has ben kept busy by the old geezer for 20 years and he is world class.
The museum ain't hard to find. turn south at the burger Baron and its on your right about a block . They managed to kill one of the volunteer workers on the project, when the trusses collapsed, but I don't think they are exhibiting old John Weitzel rotflmo He was in his 80s working on the roof.
