I just received the terrible news that Bob Fontana was killed by a Cape Buffalo this morning.

That's dreadful news! I didn't know Bob well, but I met him in Reno, and talked to him on the phone about a client for an elk hunt. He was held in high regard as an outfitter by the Atchesons. What a loss!

I would appreciate knowing more about Mr. Fontana's death. I am a freelance journalist and a regular columnist for GunHunter Magazine, a new publication by Buckmasters. I see reference on the African Hunting forum to three deaths this year, but I am not certain of the three.
