For anybody wanting to bring in a gun to Canada from the States without worrying about doing the paper work, I would recommend Questar. It took about as long as they said it would and I think the price was pretty resonable. I'll use them again if the need arises. Regards: J. Shields

If you feel they provide a good service would you care to share their phone # or address or how about a contact person?

Their fees are on the website. It seems to me you pay 150 CND plus shipping and handling, GST and duty from their facility in Ontario. If you're buying a 300 dollar gun it probably wouldn't be worth it. (My gun was 2800 US.) The reason for the trouble with importing now is that the USA is not wanting to let guns out of the country readily: post 9-11 I guess. Questar does all the paperwork and the Canadian Firearms Centre does not need to call and confirm anything. The website is www.questar.ca I believe the fellow I dealt with's name is Mark.

In May I recieved a Winchester FWT stainless in 6.5x55 that I had bought from a true gentleman on this forum, 6.5BR. We used Questar, and it did cost $192.60 for the transfer and the permit applications. Customs, GST, and shipping cost another 129.98, bringing the total to $322.58 above the cost of the rifle, which was about $800 CDN. They say it takes between 6-10 weeks to process it and everything, and I really had to ask about any progress that was made on my gun. I recieved the gun exactly 9 weeks to the day after I started the process. Hope that helps, Regards, Graham
