There have been a number of discussions on AR in recent months involving non-resident hunting in B.C./Canada; I have initiated some of these in order to encourage discussion about an issue I consider critical in B.C., due to contemporary social realities. Yesterday, an article in the "Vancouver Sun" decribed how, once again, B.C. officials had given in to the Haida Injuns on the Q.C.I. over their outrageous blockade of logging operations and given them more special privileges re: resource uses and revenues. This has been an on-going problem in Canada and B.C. for some time and native-born Canucks who are not Aboriginal have been savagely discriminated against during this travesty of justice. The article stated that it was the Injun's intention to STOP ALL BEAR HUNTING, commercial and sporting, on the Q.C.I., a timeline was not given. I have attempted to point out that the Injuns are doing this and will continue, province-wide, until they control ALL wildlife harvesting as they do in Canadian National Parks and we taxpayers who pay their freight will do as THEY tell us to. This is NOT acceptable to me. I think it very obvious that the end of non-resident hunting is in sight and resident hunting will be next. The current leader of the "opposition" party in B.C., a woman who just vastly increased her party's share of the seats in the legislature is currently married to an Injunn from the north-west corner of B.C. and the policy of her party has been, for decades, to give Injuns anything they ask for. I think that we Canucks had better wake up, the enemy is in front of us and, in the famous words of the "Iron Duke" at Waterloo, we must "Up Guards and at 'em!!!"

Hope nobody takes this wrong. While I do heartily agree with a lot of your points, the term injun is derogatory and it's use greatly takes away from the legitimacy of your arguments. When fighting a battle where the hunters are at a disadvantage in the eyes of the public we should all do our best to portray the best public image of ourselves possible. Sadly when we look like a bunch of rednecks we have already lost. the chef

I totally agree with Kutenay! Being politically correct with those worthless welfare bastards sure hasn't worked. If people want to be "liberal brainwashed" and guilt tripped into kissing their stone age asses let em! I will not! The natives that live off reserves and are conducting themselves like ordinary people are to be lauded and embraced as fellows, but the rest, treat them like any trash, white or any color and bury them. Lets make a deal with them and give them what they want.......without pickup trucks, houses, boat motors, nets, guns, bic lighters, hydro, doctors, dentists, food stores. Those are all evil whiteman things anyway huh? It is not just hunting, with the aid of our own government and slimey lawyers they have circumvented our basic laws regarding Crown lands and waterways. I hear that Aids is rampant on many reserves, that may solve the problem for us. The Newfies did it right many many "moons" ago. Dogs have masters.....cats have "staff"..... but i aint no servant!
