Hello Michael; I see no one else has come up with any answers and I'm always looking for a challenge. Do you know which part of Alberta this guy operated out of? The population, in those days, was fairly small and usually if someone was around for a while, chances are pretty good, local historical records will have some mention. Hello again; Well that was easy. Hope its what you're looking for. The source is "Diamond Hitch" The early outfitters and guides of Banff and Jasper. ISBN 0-919934-08-0. I don't have time to enter the entire thing, but if you want, send me an e-mail and I'll scan the page in. your time line appears out a little bit, since he didn't actually start guiding till after WWI. Prior to the war, he was superintendant of the Rocky Mountain Forest Reserve. His rise to prominence seems to be tied to his guiding Townsend Whelen on a hunt in the Smoky River area, in 1922. Subsequently, Whelen wrote about his Hunt in in a three part series entitled"In Virgin Game Mountains of the North" which appeared in Outdoor Life in 1923 and 1924. The magazine is still around, so it is possible they might have copies of the articles.
