Ice worms

The mercury plunged last night. As this was the first real temperature drop of the winter, many homeowners with dirt floor basements were invaded by ice worms. My brother shot a 9 footer this morning with his 12 gauge Cooey. It was a perfect shot just below the head. It was quite fat and, being a relatively young ice worm, very tastey and tender. Can't wait for the next one.

Ahh, the infamous ice worm. I didn't realize you guys had dirt basements. We should send you some cement.

So, how big a glass does one need for an iceworm cocktail?

You're going to have folks thinking that all we do up here in the winter is take turns tellin' and shovelin'! Smiler

I don't think I've been forgiven to this day for telling a guy about the rare .45-06 Ukrainian cartridge that was developed in Edmonton during the last war. Big Grin

Did I mention EXPLICIT instructions? How do I e-mail you the photos, I don't have your e-mail address. Yes, I have read and understood books by Stephen Hawking but I don't (can't, won't, am unable to) understand the ecclectics of computor science (now that's a good one). I just ain't got da brainz fer it. Aaaaarrrgh!!

I have never heard of an "ice worm" but we do have some snow snakes in the higher country in the winter, wonder if they are related

Well, coming from a country with lots of dirt in the space under the houses, but short of ice, I personally can't wait to see what this is all about... :-)

Posted for Bobby.

I added an artist's rendition of one...so lifelike.

Then we have an iceworm from Alaska. This is about the only time you will see something from Alaska that is smaller than something from Canada.

Thanks for posting my photo, it's much appreciated. BTW, the Alaskan ice worm is not the only thing smaller than its Canadian counterpart, so is the US dollar. Couldn't resist.

YukonDelta,
You should've mentioned to our southern cousins that those ice worms get to be 7 ft. long. Not alot of meat because they're skinny.

True. Our worms are better in all kinds of ways...I just can't think of them right now.

The only good thing to come out of Canada is ice hockey and Shania Twain...in that order.
