i have now been given the clearance to up sticks and move to sask in the next 6 weeks to start me new job and life in canada.
as i big shooter in the UK ive got loads of kit that i might not need to bring with me.i have provided links to the bits im not sure about, legality wise and normal useage for shooting in sask.

the above is used for decoy pigeons but can be used for crows.is it worth bringing over?

i have the T8 version for my .223 and .308.bloody good piece of kit for any rifle.takes the kick out and also gives you cracking groups

i also have cammo hide and poles with various decoys ranging from wood pigeon(which you dont have in canada) crow, canadian geese and mallard duck.
do i keep all decoys bar pigeon and my hide equipement?

thanks in advance for any advice and replies

Smiler

Welcome remyltr,

FOrget the sound suppressor.

As for the rest of the camo hides or blinds etc I would bring it along if you have any interest in waterfowl or perhaps for deer hunting. It is hard to say if the camo will match anything here well or not. In many cases it will liklely need modification but should be a good starting point.

Definatley leave the sound suppressor there. They are illegal in Canada and will only be seized by customs and cause you all kinds of hell when they question you why you have them etc. It seems weird that in places in the UK they are mandatory then are not allowed into the whole country here, but that is the way it is. Otherwise welcome to the country, next leap will have to be out of Sask and into the real huntin land, Alberta or BC. Not that Sask doesn't have its good points.

sound suppressors are allowed here but not everyone has them.it was a long hard battle with the police and the health & safety jumped on them and said the police could be responsible for shooters losing their hearing.so anyone with a centre fire rifle can apply for one and you will definately get one.
wonder why canada not upto speed with this?
seems strange that your authorities are leaving themselves wide open!
if everyone starts to push for them you will get them and im damn sure about that

I rather doubt any action by shooters would lead to allowing supresors. The courts would rule that no one need shoot so the authorities are clear on causing hearing loss......speak up, what say . Missus Who???....

The reason for banning supresors likely lies with the belief that were we allowed them we would all go on a rampage shooting scores of innocents and be able to get away because no one heard us.
