I hadn't even heard of it until yesterday. Looks like fun. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Nobody told you Canadians prefer Cricket ? Grizz Indeed, no human being has yet lived under conditions which, considering the prevailing climates of the past, can be regarded as normal. Cribbage is another truly Canadian pastime that's slowly finding a following south of the 49th.

A definite western Canada game, and if it's too hard we have "go Fish", don't know if it ever made it's way south!! A stranger is a friend we haven't met

Crokinole was very popular when I was a kid in the 60's and 70's. At farm house tables all around our community grownups and kids alike would play. This is where we learned fair play and how to lose. I have fond memories of playing with grandparents, aunts and uncles and great aunts and uncles. After the board was put away and the kids off to bed the adults could be heard playing Norwegian Whist. Cribbage was very popular in that time also. Our local Community Club used to have a Crib Tournament every winter. Anyone who joined up had to play everyone else over the winter. It initiated lots of visiting as people would have all winter to travel around to each others homes to get three games played with everyone on the card. Scores were tallied and there was a "playoff" in the spring. Fond memories of Western Canada's prairie farm life before cable TV and internet.

The small town of Tatla Lake near by has a Crokinole tournament each year. About 1/2 of the local residents show up for the event. I have never gone but the odd game gets played at our house as well. My Uncle here in Texas had the board from his parents. My dad copied it and made two. One was lost and my Sister inhereted the other. We spent hours playing it. I am still pretty good!!
