I am looking to book a moose hunt in BC. I am either thinking the East Kootenay's or around the Price George area. Any advise from those that know? Specific outfitter suggestions would be appreciated as well.

If you are looking for a trophy bull, the best areas in B.C. are in the north.I saw 48" to 50" bulls every day in the Prophet River and Muskwa River area.

Hi Stubblejumper. Any outfitter recommendations for the Prohpet/Muskwa? I have a giude friend that hunts the Spatsezi for Collingwood who claimed 2007 was a poor year for moose--having to do with a large snow drop last year. Does this fit?

There was a significant winterkill of moose/elk/deer in parts of Northern BC last winter for sure...maybe all of N. BC, I am not sure?

Most of the well known guys in the Muskwa / Kechika and Spatsizi / Dease areas have great territories for moose. Google the following:

Stone Mountian Safaris
Folding Mountain Outfitters
Kawdy Outfitters
Tuchodi River Outfitters
Prophet/Muskwa Outfitters
etc

Cheers,
Canuck

I hunted with Prophet Muskwa Outfitters.I turned down several bull moose and 6x6 bull elk every day.I also saw caribou, grizzly and stone sheep on my hunt. The prices aren't cheap, but there are large numbers of trophy quality animals.

B93: Could you confirm that they are still in business. Divorce/retirement? Could you clear that up?
