Brother in law flew from Newark to Toronto on way to Saskatchewan and was charged $50 for a gun case and then an extra $100 for the extra bag... I told him to be sure the guide accompanies him to the counter on his return leg to show them the "New" American way... Letting him know where his tip money is going! He is so pissed off that the Canadian Outfitter will get an ear full, and it's his last hunt North of the border. So the question is, Is this correct policy for Air Canada and how would it compare to other air carriers? Member NRA, SCI- Life #358 28+ years now! Why would you blame the Canadian Outfitter for the policy, now several years old, of one of the major air carriers here? The guide has NO input into what Air Kanada does and we Canucks ALSO have to pay these same fees to fly within our own borders. The "New" American way seems to be continual kvetching about things in other countries which they dislike and YET, we Canucks CANNOT bring OUR firearms into YOUR country nearly as easily as you can into ours. ...it's his last hunt North of the border..., well, ,OK, suit yourself.

Tell him not to let the door hit him in the arse on the way out. It's up to people to research total costs before a trip. I don't agree with charging extra for a gun, but if he can't afford 150 bucks extra when he just paid 5-7 grand for a "hunt" then by all means stay home. He could have borrowed a gun from the guide and saved the money. the chef

Its not the outfitters fault. Air Canada is taking a major hit right now, and they have kinda always sucked. I wouldn't use them. Mors Certa Sed Hors Incerta
