Hail "O" mighty and knowledgeable group!! I had purchased bullets called accellorators for my 30-06 years ago and would love to be able to get these for my 300 win. Can anyone tell me where I can purchase these. Also if they are available in Canada. I don't even know if you buy the nylon sleeve separate from the bullet or if they are already together when you purchase them. Of course with this I'll need a recipe to go with it. Any takers Gerry (aka Bellhender)

I wasn't aware these things were still being made. If I recall they feature a 55gr. bullet in a sabot inside the .30-06 case. They never were all that popular. It's a pretty expensive way to fire off varmint rounds. Best wishes. Cal - Montreal

We got some a few years ago they work good. we load them in 30-30 308 30-06 300 whinny and 300 weath. took a little playing but they work really good. Wife uses Remington 788 in 30-30 now for a yote rifle.

Sabots eh? Yup, I got that idea last year for my 300 WinMag also, but alas, sabots are ILLEGAL in Canada. Something about the fact that because there is no rifling marks on the sabot, the forensics if someone was shot with a sabot would be impossible......whatever. I tried ordering some anyways from E. Arthur Brown, and got a snotty-ass reply from the sales dude about 'we don't ship to foreign countries'. So, if anyone in here can figure out how to procure sabots, please let us know.

Our BATF doesn't really like them either, and appears to be tolerating a modest amount of sabot business. All that is necessary to discourage their use in crimes is to have the base of the sabot cup engrave the base of the bullet on firing...the sabot itself can be recovered by a dog in about 15 minutes of sniffing and can be traced to the buyer.

If sabots are illegal in canada why can you use them in a muzzle loader and still buy them.
