Wondering if anybody has done this and what they thought of it? Been looking into this lately and i see that they hunt lynx in BC. Anywhere else they do this? Recommend good guide/outfitter? Cost? Lynx are a little larger than coyotes, say 50-70 lbs. So any large varmint rifle would work, say a 257 Roberts with light bullets?

I thought that taking fur bearers in Alberta was limited to registered trappers only. Are the rules in one province not the same across the country? Rgds Ian Just taking my rifle for a walk!........

In BC there are general hunting seasons on both types of bear, cougar, bobcat, lynx, wolverine and coyote. The other furbearers can only be hunted/trapped by licenced trappers. Cheers, Canuck

Up in the Cariboo we're getting pretty infested with rabbits. I'm seeing loads of lynx now and during the rut in November it was rare for me not to see at least one a day around our camp. Now that I'm actually hunting preds, where are they? ------------------------------- Too many people........

Ian. Each Prov. in Canada sets its own game laws. There are great differences between which species are found in each province and what the polulations are. Also the differences in habitats have some bearing on game laws as well. Other differences may be more cultural such as use of dogs while deer hunting or political such as spring bear hunting. ******************************************** pssst America, your vulnerability is showing.
