1. If the liberals get re-elected and if Martin goes ahead with his threat to ban all handguns in Canada, and if he manages to get it passed, how long would this process likely take to become law? 2.If Ralph Klein overrides this ban, as apparently he said he would, and if the law passes , would I be able to legally sell my handguns to a resident of Alberta after the law has passed? 3. If I couldn't sell them to an Alberta Resident ,could I sell and ship them (legally) to someone in the US after passage? I don't want to sell any of my handguns, but with all of the negative hype here in Ontario, (it dominates the local newscasts),it has me worried. formerly firemanjim registered Mar 2002

Dickheads in government aren't just confined to Australia then ? The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood. As I understand things, possession of personal property is a provincial thing. However, interprovincial and internationaltrade are federal. I would think that shipping would be affected. Best not to let the pricks get elected. The ndprick is worse. And remember which party started this when you send a check to the conservatives. I attached a 2 page note to mine.May not do ant good but it can't hurt. Mark A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man, which he proposes to pay off with your money. If we were given 15 cents on the dollar to buy all the handgund in Canada it would cost over 2-BILLION dollars. That would go a long way to helping social conditions that lead to gun crimes. Personally I don't think it'll happen it's just election hype. the chef

Alberta Hunter & Republic of Alberta; Only been as far west as Sask. but would love to visit AB some day..... Could we borrow Ralph for about 4 years?.....I needed to take my mind off the handgun situation, so yesterday, I ordered a 257 Wby from Wholesale sports in Calgary.....should be here in a couple of weeks if Martin & McGuinty don't hijack the mail truck... I wonder which one will ride shotgun? formerly firemanjim registered Mar 2002

It's time to make noise, my friend. Start by writing to your Liberal candidate and tearing him a new one...then write to the PMO, and tear them a new one...then write to your local and regional newspapers. If they think the notion of seizing guns could cost them votes, they'll back away from it. If they think they can get away with it, they sure as hell won't stop with handguns. Ultimately, they want them all...the time to raise hell with all of your might is right now.

Is there a pro-RTKBA lobbying group in Canada? If so then you may want to join. If not, then get active in whatever sportsman's organizations exist and make them into a powerful lobby like the NRA.

No point in writing our Liberal candidates. You got to be a masochist and a born loser, to run as a Liberal in Alberta. I've heard they actually have to pay people to run. Now, let's dump that schreeching witch in Edmonton. A voice like her, alone, should be reason enough. Seems to me, she was the one mouthing off about marriage being strictlyu between a man and a woman, not too many years ago. Get out and advise everyone you can to vote CPC. This is the only way that we are going to win this. If you vote for anyone other than a CPC you may as well be giving your vote to the Liberals anyway. The NDP have spoken out in favor of banning all firearms in Canada and will join the Liberals to pass the handgun ban. I have never been involved in politics before, the day that the handgun ban was announced I phoned and joined the CPC party and donated a large amount of money to them. I have been in contact with every Federal candidate in my area asking what I can do to fight and also my Provincial government telling them that if they back the ban if implimented that I would do everything in my power to work against them in the next provincial election. I am the new Director of Comunications for the Mission Rod and Gun Club which is the largest gun club in BC with a membership of over 1200 members. Also we are all members of the BC Wildlife Federation that has a membership of 30,000 members. I have told the provincial Liberals that I would use my voice against them in the next provincial election, but also if they do not back the ban and come out with a statement like Ralph Klein has done I will use that same voice to help them in the next election. I have even gone to my Local MLA's office and spoken with the people there. Get out and do what you can don't let this one slide. If it does do you think that the Liberals will stop there? No this would give them the resolve to ban all Firearms in Canada. It is their goal already. They have signed on with the UN to ban firearms already. Paul Martin's right hand advisor used to be Koffi Annin's UN anti-firearms adviser. Don't be fooled fight this as hard as you can. Cam

The irony of gun laws certainly is evident in the shooting of the constable in Montreal. Banned from having guns he applies for and gets permission to have a gun during hunting season !!!And the media is calling a 338Win an 'elephant gun' .I wish you canadians luck -get out and fight !

The media is also making a big deal out of the fact that she was wearing a bullet proof vest and was shot just below it. I don't think it would have made any difference. mete, just so many people walking around who have caused all kinds of crimes in the past and who just happen to be out of jail because of this or that.I just hate that as much as some people hate guns.People who are are more aware of what is going on around them are conservative.
