There is a guy in our club; he is very active in the club, the BCWF and the community. He is one of those guys that will do anything for anyone, and would give you the shirt off his back to a stranger in need.

His 16 year old son, also a very active member of the club and a good shooter, has a form of Leukemia. He has been in the Children’s hospital cancer ward for about a month now. We think and hope he will be fine, as he is a strong fighter.

The father is a contractor, and since his son grew ill, he has basically had to stop work, and has lost all his contracts. He is spending $ like crazy on special drugs, travel back and forth to Vancouver etc. He also has 3 other kids and a wife, so his expenses are pretty high, anyway. He's facing a great deal of financial hardship right now, but all he can think about is his son.

The community is holding a fundraiser for the son on Aug 19 at the local Legion.

I am donating one of my rifles (an SKS with a Ramline stock, a scope mount, a Simmons 4x scope and it also has the bayonet separately) I am selling 200 tickets for it at $5 each. That would give us $1000 to help out.

The SKS is a great plinker and fun gun. It’s not a terribly valuable gun, one that would normally be raffled off, but I am trying to turn a fun used gun into a $1000 donation to a great cause.

Just about any of us could relate to this family. Hardworking, passionate about the outdoors, shooting/hunting/fishing. They need a hand, and I hope that you can help me help them.

Email transfers would be the easiest (if you put your name/address/phone # and forum name in the message) Cheques and MO’s with a SASE for the ticket stub would also work.

I’m just putting this up, if any moderators etc have a problem with it, then I’ll delete it.

Thanks to all
Clarke

Hey Clarke,

If you still have those Meindel's for sale in a month or so, shoot me an e-mail. I am in the middle of moving and don't have the time to deal with it now....and don't know what kind of disposable $$ I'll have left over after I get moved in either.

Cheers,
Canuck
