I froze for 8 hours today in a treestand. I'm heading to Sask. to do some cheek hunting-I'm going to sit on my butt cheeks in a nice warm truck like all the other rednecks!! Only problem is it's so ingrained in me to walk or sit that I have a real hard time truck hunting. I'm still going to give 'er the best I can for the next week here before I go. I've decided I really need a 4x4 so I can go hunting in the "green zones" I just don't like getting stuck as much as I used to-I guess turning 40 will do that to a guy.

Even though I have had a 4x4 for many years ... I find that I rarely get stuck anymore ... (certainly much less than a two wheel drive) .. I try to go around bogs or stop and go back ... Too many times I've gone ... killpc and then started to shovel or beg guys with winches to be my friend ... Good luck in Saskatchewan .. I still don't have my cow elk .. been hunting white tails around here mostly ... mgun

My fear is the valley bottoms such as on the forestry trunk road etc. I don't need to go offroad-since my legs seem to still work ok. I've been at the bottom of some valleys and had a real tough time. I'm still poking around for an area for your cow. Maybe I'll wander down to IHEA this afternoon and see if the fountains of knowledge there have any ideas.

Chef,

I've driven a lot of the trunk road with my wife's ford taurus station.... in VERY poor conditions. No problem.

Wanna PM me the name of the sausage casing seller again? I forgot! Roll Eyes

Frans, a front wheel drive van is much better in most conditions than a rear wheel drive pickup. Has to do with the weight on the drive wheels, I was always amazed what my old ford topaz would go through. The casing place in case anyone else needs to know is CTR Refrigeration. It's on 52nd street.

cheers
